Chelsea confirm signing of Timo Werner in £53M deal after beating Liverpool to deal

Chelsea have completed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig after the German international penned a five year deal to complete his move from RB Leipzig to join the blues this summer.

Werner has been a top priority transfer target for both Chelsea and Liverpool but, the blues beat the reds to the deal by triggering the release clause of the RB Leipzig’s star.

The new signing is set to earn over £170,000 a week and join the Chelsea side when the Bundesliga season ends this month.

There is every possibility that he may feature in the blues remaining UEFA champions league campaign as he won’t be a RB Leipzig player in August when it resumes.
