Dr Dre’s Wife, Nicole Young, Files For Divorce After 24 Years Of Marriage

Wife to rapper and businessman, Dr. Dre, Nicole Young, has reportedly filed for divorce from the few months after their 24 wedding anniversary.

The two have been married for over two decades now. They both walked the aisle in May 1996 and recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.

Nicole Young filed the paperwork citing the usual irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the 55 year old hip-hop mogul. The estranged couple share two adult children, son Truice and daughter Truly.

Reports are circulating that the couple’s marriage has no prenup and the music mogul is worth an estimated $800M as of 2019. This fortune is due in part to his successful headphone line, Beats By Dr. Dre, which Apple acquired for $3 billion in 2014. It was also stated that Nicole Young mentioned that she and Dr. Dre have no prenup and that she would be seeking spousal support.

The rapper also has four children from previous relationships. Dr. Dre met Young in the mid-1990s while she was still married to then-husband Sedale Threatt. At the time, Dre reportedly penned a romantic letter to Young, convincing her to leave Threatt and pursue a relationship with him instead.
