Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990), known popularly as Wizkid is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.

He began recording music at the age of 11. Inspired by a couple of artistes like King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, and Bob Marley, 11-year-old Wizkid started his career with the name Lil Prinz but dropped it in 2006.

He managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group that was formed by he and a couple of his church friends.

Wizkid signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009.

Afterwards, he released “Holla at Your Boy“, the lead single from his debut studio album Superstar (2011). This single got the hearts of so many Nigerians, pushing him rapidly to prominence.

Wizkid got international recognition in 2016, after his collaboration with Drake on the global hit, “One Dance”, a track that got to number one in 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Without any doubt, Wizkid is definitely one of the biggest artists that Africa has ever produced.
