Simi Apologizes To Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals & Transgenders
Nigerian music sensation and mother of one, Simi, has apologized to the LGBT, Lesbians, Gay, and Bisexual, Transgender Community over her attacking comments about them in the past.
Recall that the songstress, in her Youtube series “Stoopid Sessions” stated that homosexuality is wrong. In her statement she called out Gay activist, Bisi Alimi, for being a disgrace and for promoting homophobic violence.
The singer has, however, tendered an apology statement via her Twitter page, explaining clearly what she misunderstood about the whole thing and also stating where she was being misunderstood.
In a lengthy letter addressed to the LGBT community, Simi stated they don’t deserve the hate or don’t deserve to live in fear because of who they are.
She apologized for carelessly addressing an issue that was a matter of life and death for many and said it was never her intention to hurt anybody.
According to her, she didn’t understand their anger at her and feels they also misunderstood her. She further revealed that she recently found out that someone was almost killed because they were a member of the LGBT community.
