Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA, has added a new development to allow women go on maternity leave.

This new measure would definitely change women’s football forever, with mothers now able to have their salary guaranteed for 14 weeks while also having medical support.

This new development would apply all over the world.

Before this, female players had to cut their careers short to tend to their children, but now they will have more support from FIFA.

Speaking with reporters, FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, said:

“If we are serious about boosting the women’s game, we have to look at all these aspects.”

“Female players need to have stability in their careers and if they take maternity leave, they should not have to worry about when they are ready to play again.” Follow us on Instagram @sofovilla | Follow us on Twitter @sofovilla | Like our page on Facebook via @sofovillamedia
