Rema Breaks 41-Year-Old Billboard Record With Album

Music by Nigerian artiste, Rema, is one of the biggest musical exports from Nigeria in recent years.
With his internationally recognized album “Rave and Roses,” Rema has shattered a record unbroken on the US Billboard Albums chart for forty-one years.
Rema’s debut album, “Rave and Roses,” stays for record-breaking 31 weeks on the US Billboard Albums Chart.
Afro-juju superstar, King Sunny Ade set the previous record for this amazing achievement. The 1982 album “Juju Music” by King Sunny Ade spent 29 weeks at the top of the US Billboard chart.

King Sunny Ade retained the record for the longest period and no other Nigerian musician would even come close to matching it, much less peaking on the Billboard music charts.
But beginning with Wizkid’s third album, “Sounds From the Other Side,” which debuted at #107 on the US Billboard 200 chart, Nigerian artists started reappearing in the charts in 2017.
Other Nigerian artists, such as Davido, Firebox DML, Burna Boy, Okay, and Asake, have charted on the US Billboard charts since 2017.
Audiences from all over the world were amused by the level of skill displayed when he first entered the music industry. The way Rema’s debut album has been shattering barriers and setting records is a sign of how popular Afro beats have become around the world.
We can’t wait to see what Rema does next because the deluxe edition of his song “Raves and Roses” demonstrates that the young musician is full of surprises.
