Nigeria’s D’Tigress Emerges As African Basketball Champions For The 4th Time In A Row

Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress has won the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship.

The squad put up an outstanding performance to overcome the Senegalese team in a closely contested game that concluded 84-74 on Saturday at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

In the semi-final game, the team headed by Rena Wakama easily defeated the tournament’s hosts Rwanda 79-48.

Nigeria has already won the championship six times, becoming them the second African nation to do so in the women’s Afrobasket division.
